FC Augsburg could soon lose one of its best players, as Mert Kömür is reportedly being pursued by Eintracht Frankfurt. The 20-year-old offensive midfielder comes from the FCA youth academy and has been part of the professional squad since 2023. The son of a Turkish father and a German mother is one of the most promising offensive talents in the Bundesliga. Kömür is two-footed and a pass-secure creative player who can shine as a preparer and also as a finisher. Additionally, the 1.84-meter-tall player is very agile and has good physicality. In the offense, he is flexibly deployable, can play as a classic ten or as an eight. And although his contract with Augsburg was extended prematurely until 2029 in the summer of 2025, the club is reportedly willing to let Kömür go under certain circumstances.
