VfL Wolfsburg hosted FC Augsburg on the 9th matchday of the Bundesliga. The Wolves, who were recently successful in the DFB Cup against Borussia Dortmund, wanted to overcome their home weakness in the league. Augsburg traveled with the confidence of a 2-1 win against Dortmund.
