Augsburg Centurions must follow up against Montabaur Farmers and complete their tasks. Team leader Daniel Metzler is not worried about the home game against Montabaur on Saturday. „We can keep up“, says Metzler. The team of head coach Eugen Haaf is further adapting to the GFL2 level. They have proven after the two opening defeats against the top teams Wiesbaden and Gießen that they can also hold their own in the GFL2. Maybe even more. The test will be the Montabaur Fighting Farmers, currently one of the strongest teams in the league. The guests have won their first three season games against the Albershausen Crusaders, the Gießen Golden Dragons and the Biberach Beavers. Only last weekend they were defeated in a top game against the league leaders Wiesbaden Phantoms with 16:17. Metzler is optimistic after the meeting on Tuesday: „This conversation was important because it didn't exist before. The different concerns were expressed and we arranged ourselves quickly.“ The conversation lasted only about 30 minutes in a very positive atmosphere, Metzler reports. Topics were the parking situation, the separation of visitors to the stadium restaurant and football spectators at overlapping dates and above all a better deployment of the Centurions' security personnel. For example, the gate to the parking lot behind the main stand, one of the main escape routes, was closed and not occupied during the home game against Biberach. „That was a misunderstanding on our part“, explains Metzler. „If our security personnel leave their posts, the criticism is justified and we must eliminate it.“ The event program is also still expandable. Metzler understands the criticism of the Centurions' fans. They were more accustomed to the TSG facility. He asks for understanding. „We want to do more gradually, but we must also get our basics under control.“ Improvements are expected to take effect already in the home game against Montabaur.
