Augsburg's city leadership is now complete. Angela Steinecker and Frederik Hintermayr will support Mayor Dr. Florian Freund and Deputy Mayor Dirk Wurm in their duties. Angela Steinecker brings extensive experience. She was active for many years at IG Metall Augsburg and later took over leadership responsibility as second authorized representative and managing director. Subsequently, she worked in leading positions at various companies, including FTI Touristik, Thoughtworks Deutschland and Elektrobit Automotive. Steinecker has also been involved in local politics for many years. From 2014 to 2020, she was a member of the Augsburg City Council. She was also an honorary judge at the Augsburg Labor Court and was involved in the management board of the Augsburg-Friedberg City Savings Bank until recently. Frederik Hintermayr is switching from trade union work to the town hall. The native Augsburg resident first completed an apprenticeship as a healthcare and nursing assistant and then completed a degree. Hintermayr was active for many years at IG Metall Augsburg and later took over leadership responsibility as second authorized representative and managing director. Their tasks include political and strategic advice, organizational project management, and coordination between administration, associations, organizations, councils, and other societal actors. In addition, both take on important interface functions within the municipal administration.
