Augsburg missed out on a point in their final match of the season, losing 0:4 to Union Berlin. The FCA finished the season in 9th place, their third-best season in Bundesliga history. Manuel Baum made two changes to the starting lineup compared to the previous week. Yannik Keitel replaced the suspended Kristijan Jakić, while Robin Fellhauer returned from injury to replace Dimitris Giannoulis. Baum also had to miss Arthur Chaves (knee injury), Elvis Rexhbecaj (infection) and Alexis Claude-Maurice, who was absent due to ankle problems. Both teams started cautiously, but the game quickly picked up pace and became more attacking. The first good opportunity fell to Augsburg: Anton Kade made a strong run down the right flank, leaving several opponents behind, and tried to shoot from inside the box. However, his shot went just wide of the post. Shortly after, Augsburg conceded the early blow. After a corner for Union Berlin, goalkeeper Carl Klaus quickly switched play and played a long ball forward. Finn Dahmen came out of the goal, but collided with Robin Fellhauer. András Schäfer reacted quickly, chipped the ball to Andrej Ilic, who had a clear path to the goal and scored easily. In the second half, Augsburg struggled to find any clear-cut chances, while Union Berlin continued to press. In the 54th minute, Union Berlin scored their third goal. They played a corner short, and Livan Burcu played the ball to Schäfer on the left side of the box. Schäfer took aim and hit the ball into the top right corner. Augsburg's best chance in the second half came in the 86th minute, when Uchenna Ogundu was brought on and had a good opportunity to score. However, his shot from a tight angle went wide of the post.
