Augsburg's club boss Michael Ströll is convinced that FC Augsburg can have another successful season. After finishing ninth last season with 43 points (12 wins, 7 draws, 15 losses), he sees potential for a Top Ten finish. "The quality of the team is there to achieve the goals," Ströll told the "Augsburger Allgemeine".

How does Ströll assess the chances?

Ströll admits that the financial conditions for a Top Ten finish are not automatically given. Nevertheless, the club boss is optimistic: "We always want to push into the top ten." The team's recent form (LWWDW) supports his confidence. With 45 goals scored and 61 conceded (-16), there is room for improvement, but the foundation for a strong season is set.

What does head coach Baum say?

Manuel Baum, who replaced Sandro Wagner as coach in December, is also optimistic. He asked journalists what could stand in the way of an even better finish. Baum feels comfortable in the team and emphasizes the positive dynamics: "It feels very right with Manuel Baum, the interpersonal relationships and the team are top-notch - and that is reflected in the results."

What's next for Banks and Kömür?

In the transfer phase, it is unclear how the squad will change. Noahkai Banks and Mert Kömür, both from the club's youth academy, are considered candidates for bigger clubs. However, Ströll dampens speculation: "I think it's unlikely that both will leave the club." Both players are important for the development of young talent at the club.

Why did the Wagner experiment fail?

Ströll admits that the experiment with Sandro Wagner as coach did not work. "Due to the great media attention, there was a certain sense of being overwhelmed," he explains. Wagner was "very good as a person," but not successful as a coach with the team. With Baum, they have now found a coach who fits well with the team.
