FC Augsburg has secured Austrian national player Michael Gregoritsch. The 32-year-old striker signs a contract until June 30, 2027, which includes an option for an additional year. The transfer fee is approximately 0.5 million euros. Gregoritsch was previously loaned out to Bröndby IF. He knows the environment and procedures of FC Augsburg well, as he played for the FCA from 2017 to 2022. "I feel very comfortable at FC Augsburg. I sense great trust, know the environment best", said Gregoritsch. He will now "enjoy the next few weeks with the national team and then return to Augsburg with great anticipation. In the upcoming season, we will attack again." FCA sports director Benni Weber is very satisfied with the extension of the contract. "Michael has impressively proven in the second half of the season with important scoring points and strong performances how valuable he is for our team. He takes responsibility and goes forward on and off the pitch", said Weber. Austria starts against Jordan on June 17 in the World Cup. Gregoritsch can focus on the tournament first, before returning to Augsburg and being firmly planned until at least 2027.
