Augsburg's U23 defeats DJK Vilzing with 1:3

Augsburg's U23 has won the Regionalliga match against DJK Vilzing with 1:3. The Huthgartenkickers had more playing time, but there were no big scoring chances. Josef Gottmeier tried his luck in the sixth minute from a distance, but he clearly missed.

In the 23rd minute, the DJK scored a goal: Özbay first got past his opponent outside the penalty area and had a bit of free space in front of him. So he adjusted the ball again, pulled it into the penalty area and scored beautifully with a placed shot next to the post for 1:0. Augsburg's goalkeeper was left without any defensive chances.

In the 26th minute, Meyer ran over the wing, but his cross found no recipient. However, Vilzing remained in the situation: about 25 meters from the goal, Mihaylov was brought down; Jünger then set the free kick into the wall.

Vilzing remained on the pressure. In the 28th minute, there was another good chance, as Gottmeier drove the ball through the midfield. He passed it to Tiefenbrunner, who shot directly and the ball went just inches from the post.

Vilzing was now the clearly better team and kept Augsburg from their own goal. It wasn't until the 33rd minute that the home team scored, through Bahn, after the FCA had previously combined through the DJK's defense, with a long-range shot. However, the ball went wide of the post.

In the 42nd minute, the DJK, however, fell into a counterattack: the Bayerwald team could still defend it. The ball was brought far forward, where it was immediately returned to Malaj. He danced around Härtl in the penalty area and then shot with a powerful shot. DJK goalkeeper Eutinger was left without enough reaction time, so the ball found its way into the goal.

The spectators were now treated to high-class football. In the stoppage time, the DJK again got into the penalty area with Jünger, who got through to Özbay, who brought the ball to the goal and hit it from 10 meters against the post.

After the break, it became dangerous for the DJK's goal (50.), as the Beller team carelessly lost the ball, Kufner was fouled and the home team was in a dangerous free kick position. Bahn took the free kick, which Eutinger cleared with his fists to the corner, but also in the subsequent scenes, Vilzing did not bring the ball out of the danger zone; an Augsburg header was blocked by Grauschopf.

But Vilzing did not remain inactive. 52 minutes had been played, when Özbay was laid on the baseline; the free kick flank brought Gottmeier into the goal area, but Mihaylov did not apply any pressure behind the header. In the 55th minute, Grauschopf shot the ball out of the goal, the corner came again dangerous and Augsburg's Dreo headed the ball next to the post.
