FC Augsburg is expecting a million-dollar windfall from Dzenan Pejcinovic's transfer to VfB Stuttgart. According to our sources, the FC Augsburg will receive a share of 2.5 million euros from the transfer. The transfer is one of the most expensive in the club's history. Pejcinovic moved to Wolfsburg in the summer of 2022 for a transfer fee of 1.5 million euros. For the Bundesliga team of FCA, the native Münchner never played and mostly ran for the youth teams of the club. From 2017 to 2022, the new VfB star was an Augsburg player, switched from the youth of FC Bayern Munich. At FCA, he was considered a top talent for a long time – to become a Bundesliga player, he would only become in Wolfsburg. With his million-dollar transfer, Pejcinovic has pushed another former FCA striker off the list of the most expensive VfB newcomers: In the summer of 2024, Ermedin Demirovic was worth 23.7 million euros to the VfB. The former FCA captain is now one of the competitors of Pejcinovic for a place in the storm center. Pejcinovic is looking forward to the task in Stuttgart, as he said in the announcement of the club: „I can hardly wait to start with the VfB, the excitement is huge. I already know some of my new teammates from the DFB youth teams and had very good conversations with the responsible people, so I didn't have to think long when I heard about the interest of VfB. Now I want to arrive as quickly as possible and contribute my part to a successful season for VfB.“ The FC Augsburg is currently in 9th place in the Bundesliga table and has scored 45 goals and conceded 61 in the current season. The team is 46 points behind the league leaders Bayern Munich.
